Soon after writing the post about
healthy living, I lost my motivation yet again. It was the holidays, then more and more excuses kept on coming... I just can't break my habit of constantly nibbling on something. I have to find a way to stop, since I now reached my new personal record weight. So I was thinking, one way to do that is to start making a healthier version of my favorite things to eat and scheduling my meals... nothing in between will be allowed. Only for a short period of time, until I break the habit. I don't believe in food deprivation, that only leads to binge eating and failure.
For this post, my example will be the gyro, replacing the regular pita bread with a whole-wheat piece and the greasy pork with veggies, thin slice of ham and a little bit of chopped cheese. I used lettuce, radishes, cucumber, tomato, ham, cheese and a pinch of mustard. It tasted amazing.
Although, the next step for me will be trimming the carbs as much as possible, also for a short period of time, cause my system feels like it's on overdrive right now from all the holiday pressure it went through. I'll let you know how that went too.
Your tips and opinions on post-holiday recovery are always welcome.
Love, Simona
It's so so hard around the holidays, but it's good that you're working on staying motivated now!
